DEATH OF A WOMAN
MEDICAL EVIDENCE [ Per Press Association. ] AUCKLAND, Oct. 15. At the inquest to-day a new lighc was thrown on the cause of the death of Mrs Elsie Patricia Metge, disposing of any suggestion of suicide. The circumstances previously reported were that on October 5 Mrs Metge telephoned her husband at his work and said: “I’m lost, I’m lost.” He taxied home and found her in a state of delirium from which she lapsed into unconsciousness and died next day. At the first sitting of the inquest, mention was made of a bottle which had contained insecticide for garden use. However, medical evidence to-day showed the cause of death to have been acute miliary tuberculosis and toxic nephritis in one of the organs.
The coroner, Mr Hunt, gave his verdict accordingly.
