BREWERY STRIKE ENDS
MEN SEEK POSITIONS TRADES HALL DECISION BRISBANE, Oct. 14. The Brisbane beer strike collapsed to-day when the disputes committee of the Trades Hall ordered the strikers to present themselves for their former employment, and an effort is being made to induce the breweries to reinstate the men. It is understood, however, that a large proportion of the strikers find that their original positions are already filled.
SAVAGE ATTACK TRADES COUNCIL PRESIDENT. Received Oct. 15, 11.35 p.m. BRISBANE Oct. 15. The president of the Trades Labour Council, Mr. S. J. Bryan, was savagely attacked by a group of men while entering the Trades Hall to-day. Mr. Bryan, who handled the recent brewery strike, was felled and kicked almost into insensibility. He was admitted to hospital.
