SAMOAN HIGH CHIEF DEAD
ONE OF TWO ADVISERS APIA, Oct. 14. The high chief Tupai Tui Malaeliifano, one of the two advisers in the administration of Samoan affairs, has died. His age records are not clear but it is reckoned that he was over 90. He was fautua previous to 1928 but resigned to join the Mau movement. He was reappointed fautua by the unanimous recommendation of the Samoans after the visit of the goodwill mission. The funeral to the chiefs’ burial place at Mulinuu takes place to-day.
