COSTLY DELAY
NEW BRITISH SHIPS-FOR PACIFIC Received Oct. 15, 9.5 p.m. LONDON, Oct. 15. Lord Easendon, at the P. and O. centenary dinner, deplored the delay in strengthening the New Zealand and Australian Canadian service against “synthetic” competition. He said he realised that the Dominion Governments had to be consulted but it was a thousand pities that action had not been taken two years ago. Not only would the ships have been running but they would have been built at half the present cost.
