POWER BOARD EMPLOYEES

SUPERANNUATION SCHEME. [ Ter Press Association. ] WELLINGTON, Oct. 15. One of the chief matters discussed by the conference of secretaries of power boards and supply authorities, was the formulation of a scheme of suprannuation for board employees and a recommendation was made to the main association at its conference to-day: (A) That legislation should be enacted, making it obligatory on all power boards to provide for their employees by subscribing to the National Provident Fund where no other fund is established; and (B) that the Government should be requested to pass legislation legalising as far as existing contributors are concerned payments by boards towards insurance or pension schemes already adopted bythem.

There was full agreement as to clause (B) and clause (A) was referred to a committee to report further to the executive of the association, which was authorised to proceed in the matter.
