Back were welcomed as new members. Miss M. Egan read a one-act play, “Aunt Liza Comes to Town,” and Mrs E. Jones demonstrated on tapestry work, both being accorded thanks. Sympathy was expressed with Mrs G. Kiihfuss in the loss of her brother. Mrs L. Davidson won the competition for biscuits, and the hostesses were Mesdames Phillips ana Kiihfuss. Mr T. Anderson, who has been on holiday in Palmerston North, has left, for Napier. Miss Joyce Paterson, Wellington, is the guest of Mrs J. Kettles, Alton. Mr S. Legg, manager of the Patea branch. Maypole Stores, has accepted a position in Wellington. Mrs W. Donald, Omata, is Mrs W. Parson's guest. Miss J. Burton has returned to Stratford after visiting Mrs J. Hurley. Mrs L. P. Clarke’s guests, Mesdames E. Fowler (Northcote), C. iWatkins (Ellerslie), and Mr Patter'son (Penrose) have returned to their homes. Mr and Mrs J. Airey, Temuka. visited Patea this week in the course of a North Island tour. It is with regret we record the death of the nine-year- old daughter of Mr and Mrs T. Dwyer, Kakaramca. The small girl has been an inmate of the Wanganui Hospital since the infantile epidemic. The funeral took place at Hawera on Wednesday.
