STATEMENT BY MINERS OPEN-SHOP METHODS OPPOSED SYDNEY, Oct. 13. The Miners’ Council, reviewing the dispute at the Broken Hill Company’s northern collieries, decided to inform the Industrial Commission that the Broken Hill Company were trying to introduce the American open-shop methods, which the miners and unionists generally would not tolerate.
