NEW COLLEGE

LORD NUFFIELD’S HOPES. LONDON, Oct. 13. Lord Nuffield announced that the new college would be completed in five years. Though primarily for post-graduates, doubtless undergraduates would also be able to study there. He hoped that it would attract Dominion students and would most decidedly be for Rhodes scholars. A British official wireless message adds that one of the conditions for the acceptance of Lord Nuffield’s offer for building the new college is that part of the endowment shall be devoted to the establishment of university fellowships in three classes:—(l) Full-time fellows to conduct research and assist in teaching; (2) unofficial fellows already holding office in the university or its colleges; (3) parttime fellows with practical experience in the professions or industry of commerce.
