WEDDING

TAYLOR—BISHOP. A pretty wedding took place in All Saint’s Church, Wanganui East, on : Tuesday, October 12, when Edith Muriel (Peggy), third daughter of Mr. ■ John Bishop and the late Mrs. Bishop, of Wellington, was married to Herbert Winston Slovin, second son of Mr. and Mrs. H. R. S. Taylor, of Gonvillc. The Rev. Canon W. G. Williams, of Napier, ofliciated and the Rev. 800 l presided at the organ. The floral decorations of white and pink cherry blossoms in the church had been charmingly arranged for the ceremony and sheaves of lilies were on the altar and chancel. The bride entered the church with her brother-in-law, Mr. N. Annabell, and at the altar, was given away by her father. Her lovely gown of while silk net mounted over satin had a soft lichu effect at the neckline and a silver girdle encircling the waist. A circlet of orange blossoms held in place the beautifully embroidered veil, worn over the face. She v/ore silver shoes and carried an exquisite bouquet of lily-of-the-valley, white lilac and camelias, and a touch of pale pink added with carnations.

The attendant bridesmaids were Miss Phyllis Oxford, of Napier (chief) and Miss Clunie Annabell, the former wearing a frock of lavender net over satin, and the later a frock of pink net over satin. Both wore silvii g.'idles and accessories with headbands to tone and carried bouquets cl opened tulips, carnations, roses and lavender shaded sweet peas. Mr. John Orr, of Dunedin, and Mr. Gerald Clay were bAt man and gioomsman respectively. 1 After the ceremony a reception was held at “Bambridge,” the home of the bride’s sister, Mrs. N. Annabell, who cordially received the guests. Shu was wearing a dove grey model suit with inset embroidery to tone, a Li H o blue Baku straw hat and blue shoes. Her bouquet was of pink rosebuds and blue forget-me-nots. The bridegroom’s mother, Mrs. Taylor, wore a navy blue ensemble, Baku hat to match, ermine necklet and held a bouquet of pink rosebuds. The tables were decorated in pink cherry blossom and lavender Argentine, sweet peas and laburnum, and the wedding cake was beautifully iced by Mrs. Ray Sutherland, of Fordell.
