NOISY MOTOR HORNS

Received Oct. 13, 5.5 p.m. LONDON, Oct. 12. A committee of the Ministry of Transport, as an experiment, recently asked two hundred persons, of both sexes anti all ages, to listen to 43 types of motor horns and express opinions of the degree of annoyance from them. They had to classify under sub-headings those agreeable, tolerable, objectionable, most objectionable, and unbearable.

The committee has reported that there was a wide divergence of opinion, but the whine of sirens was most annoying.
