The former’s coolness and judgment finally prevailed. Denny’s speed and aggressiveness gave h m a well-deserved win over a sturdy opponent in McCann. Heney and Estall gave an excellent display of close fighting, winning hearty applause O’Gorman’s punching power alone determined his bout with Neame.
Sheridan gave finished display against the clever Gisborne’ e Thompson, while Moran pr< ’ ably had the barest margin over Greaney, whose showing after early being floored was one of the pluckiest seen here. Kelly displayed remarkably solid punching power in defeating Tonks.
W. Lister’s lowing against the Taranaki tyro Jones recalled his brother Harry’s strenuous infighting methods.
