SEAT RETAINED BY LABOUR. [ British Official Wireless.] Received Sept. 9, 5.5 p.m. RUGBY, Sept. 8. The result of the by-election in the Springburn Division, Glasgow, was as follows: Mrs. Agnes Hardie (Lab.) . 14,895 Colonel Shaw (Nat. Con.) 8,881 There was no change. The successful candidate’s husband held the seat since the 1935 general election. This is the 37th by-election since last general election- Of these the Government parties lost eight.
