CANADIAN DISARMAMENT
CHURCH CONFERENCE REJECTION MONTREAL, June 8. After a four-hour session the Mon-treal-Ottawa Conference of the United Church of Canada rejected a demand for complete disarmament in Canada. The resolution urges instead that the Government eliminate the economic and political causes of war. The bombardment of Spanish towns was condemned. A proposal to extend censure to British bombing of Indian villages some months ago was refused.
