SOCIAL AND PERSONAL Mrs. R. Strauchan, of Stratford, was a recent visitor to Wanganui. Mrs. C. B. Harman, Nelson, is visiting Mrs. F. H. Bethvvaite. Mr. and Mrs. L- Hurley were Taihape visitors to. Wanganui on Wednesday. Miss Margaret Lyons, of Woodville, who came to Wanganui for race week, is the guest of Mrs. T. W. Blennerhassett, Wicksteed Street. Mrs. T. Hine, Victoria Avenue, is visiting her daughter, Mrs. Morton Jones, in WellingtonMrs. C. J. Burr has returned to Wanganui from Dunedin, where she attended the capping ceremony. She was accompanied by Miss N. McLeod and Miss .lune Withers, of the Victoria University. Mrs. A. Wilson, of Foxton, who has been staying in Wanganui for race week as the guest of Mrs. W. L. Young, Hatrick Terrace, will return home to-day. Miss M. McLeod, who has been visiting Wanganui, has returned to Wellington, accompanied by Mrs. Gregor McLeod. Miss Kelly, of “Atholbank,” is at present in New Plymouth for the show, where she is showing her dachs’hund dogs. Mr. and Mrs- E. P. Webster and Miss Joan Webster, who have been staying at Bushy Park for the Wanganui races, returned to New Plymouth yesterday. Signor and Signora Marotta left Wanganui yesterday by motor for Wellington, where they embark to-day-on the Wanganella for Sydney en route to Italy and England. They were accompanied to Wellington by Signora Marotta’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. Webb Jone*, and members of the family, Mrs. A. R. Spurdie, Mrs. F. Reid, Mrs. Hardy, and Mrs. B. Beswick.
