FUTURE EVENTS

NEW ZEALAND CLASSICS NOMINATIONS DIE TO-DAY At this period of the racing year, when racegoers generally are chiefly concerned with the form of jumpers, owners of thoroughbreds are required Io give attention to the nomination of | their candidates for classic and similar dosed events. While it can be said that the great majority of horses do not race up to hopes originally held for them, it is equally true that many other young gallopers develop unexpectedly good form and there have been champions whose greatest chances of fame were denied them through failure to enter them fully tor classic engagements; consequently, their value for breeding purposes was much reduced. Entry day for all future events in the Dominion is to-day. Entries requiring to be made jvith the Auckland Racing Club are for the Welcome Stakes, to be run in the spring; Great Northern Foal Stakes and Royal Stakes, 1937-38; Champagne Stakes, to be run in the autumn of next year; Great Northern Guineas, 1938; Great Northern Derby, Oaks and St. Leger, for the 1938-39 season.
