OHAKEA

PRESENTATION EVENING Last Saturday evening a number of residents and friends met in the local hall to tender a presentation evening to Mr. T. Pedersen, jur., whose marriage takes place shortly. He will make his future home in Kairanga. The evening was spent with cards and dancing, the music being supplied by Mrs. H. Redpath and Mr. H. MdKinnon. During the evening Mr. Redpath. on behalf of the residents of the district, presented Mr. T. Pedersen with a handsome silver tea service. Mr. T. Pedersen suitably replied. The Monte Carlo winners were Miss N. Masters and Mr. J. Frecklington, and the card winners were Mrs. J. Murray, Mr. W. Clulow, Mr. S. Frecklington, and consolation, Mrs. Natzke. There were many visitors present from Bulls and Kairanga. A happy evening was brought to a close at midnight with the singing of “For He's a Jolly Good Fellow,” “Auld Lang Syne,” and the playing of the National Anthem.
