STALLION BRINGS 8700 GUINEAS
MACQUARIE STUD DISPERSAL Received June 10, 11.5 p.m. SYDNEY, June 10. At a dispersal sale of Mr H. A. Taylor’s Macquarie Stud, Wellington, New South Wales to-day, the imported stallion Melfort, whose stock figured prominently in recent yearling sales, fetched 8700 guineas, the buyer being Mr H. S. Thompson, of Tarwin Park. The New Zealander, Mr W. T. Hazlett, was a bidder until 8500 guineas, when he dropped out. The stallion Rampion was bought by Mr E. A. Taylor for 550 guineas. The stallion Koomela was purchased by Mr N. J. Veech for 410 guineas. Sixty-six brood mares realised 8930 guineas.
