TALLOW, HEMP, FRUIT The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated June 5, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London: — Tallow.—Market continues quiet on spot with prices unchanged. Hemp.—Manila: Market quiet and unchanged. Sissal: Market steady, quieter at the close, values unchanged. New Zealand: Inquiry for “common” but no business reported. Fruits.—Mataroa discharging fruit in sound condition; market is weaker. Apples: Granny Smith Ils to 13s, Delicious Statesman 7s to 9s, Jonathans, Dunn’s Favourite, Cleopatra, Sturmer, 6s to Bs. Pears: Winter Nelis, Winter Cole, 9s to 10s. Peas.—Maples: Poor demand, prices easier. A grade Tasmanian new crop near at hand, sold at 54s to 54s 6d. New Zealand, no business reported, nominal value is No. 1 525. Blues: Foor demand. Tasmanian not offering. Nominal value tis for June-July shipments £ll 10s.
