WANGANUI ASSOCIATION ANNUAL TOURNAMENT SIX AND SEVEN-A SIDE The Wanganui Hockey Association’ annual six and seven-a-side tourna ment for men and women, respectively, which was postponed on ac* count of the weather last week, wil' be held at Gonville Park next Satur« day. The men will compete for the Hughes Bros.’ Cup and the women for the Fitchett Cup. Twenty-one teams have entered, and some exciting games shouid be witnessed during the afternoon. In order that the tournament may be finished before dark, the first game in each section is scheduled to commence at 1.15 p.m. sharp, and any team not ready to take the field when due will forfeit their game. Sections Teams have been drafted into the following sections:— Section A (men).—Technical Old Boys, Wesley, Y.M.C.A. B, Kauangaroa A, and Hinemoa B. Section B (men).—Hinemoa A, Y.M.C.A. A, Technical College and Kauangaroa B. Section A (women). Aramoho A, Kaiwhaiki B, Putiki. and Kauangaroa. Section B (women).—Gonville A, Collegians, Aramoho B, and Technical Old Girls. All matches shall be of 13 minutes* duracron, and teams shall change ends after six minutes’ play. Each section must find a winner. The offside rule is one player in the men’s games and two in women’s games. All regular umpires and players who are willing to umpire, are requested to be on the grounds at 1 p.m. SCHOOLBOYS’ COMPETITION DRAW FOR SATURDAY The first round of this competition will be continued at Gonville Park on Saturday, when the following games are set dowm to take place:— Castlecliff v. Technical College A, No. 4 ground, at 1.15 p.m. Intermediate v. Technical College C, No. 4 ground, at 2.15 p.m. Gonville v. Technical College B, No. 4 ground, at 3.15 p.m. Tawhero, a bye.
