WANGANUI CLUB WEEK-END RESULTS The Wanganui Greyhound Racing Club held its usual meeting on the Furiri Street course over the weekend. In spite of bad weather there was a large crowd and the number of 1 nominations was a record for this year. Racing was exciting in that there were several brilliant new dogs competing. Flight Lieutenant, a young dog owned by Mrs. F. H. McCartney, ran a wonderful race against seasoned dogs. Results:— A Grade.—Miss M. Holly's Wait and See 1, Mr. H. Higgs’ Movie Star * Mr. F. H. McCartney’s Flying Tackle 3. A Grade.—Miss M. Riding’s Mosquito Boy 1, Mr. E. J. Holly’s The Monk 2, Mrs. F. McCartney’s Flight Lieutenant 3. Pups.—Mrs. F. McCartney’s Flight Lieutenant 1, Mr. E. James’ Prince Lucerne 2, Mrs. J. Palamountain's Nosey Parker 3Hurdles.—Miss M. Holly's Wait and See 1. Mr. H. Ford’s Rose Pink 2, Mr. H. Higgs’ Movie Star 3. In a trial run Mr. E. J. Holly’s The Monk beat Irish Smiles, Prince Lucerne and Laughing Lass. To-day the best of the Wanganui dogs will be at Waipukurau, where a big meeting is being held. Among these dogs are The Monk, Wait and [See. Movie Star, Mosquito Boy, Smoke Bellew. Rose Pink, Flying Tackle and Royal Fleet.
