DUNEDIN JOCKEY CLUB

MEETING AT WINGATUI BRIEF REVIEW OF PROSPECTS The winter meeting of the Dunedin Jockey Club will be opened at Wingatui to-day and will be continued tomorrow, the concluding day being Saturday. The weather at Dunedin is reported to have broken last weekend and Lhe prospects are far winter conditions and heavy going. I’he totalisator will be operated on the win-and-place system. The following may be in request in their respective engagements:— Tahuna Steeplechase.—Black Banner, Bonny puff, Sunward. Trial Handicap.—Doctor Duthie, Gay Vixen, Aggravate. Otago Hurdles.—Arctic Star, Giggleswick, Signaller. Brighton Handicap.—Rose of Tralee, Rousseau. Otago Steeplechase.—Trisox, Burglar, Hunting Go. Birthday Handicap.—Last Refrain, Travenna, Daring Deed. Winter Handicap. Araboa, McHeath, Sweet Agnes. St. Clair Handicap.—Double Gift, alvasia, Silent Knight. The list of acceptances is:— 11.30

The following riding engagements have been made for the Dunedin meeting: L. J. Ellis: Amelita, Full Throttle, and Rousseau. A. E. Ellis: Aggravate and Rose of Tralee. J. W. Jennings: Milford, Made Money, and Fair Weather. C. T. Wilson: Royal Ransom, Last Refrain, Double Shot, and Balmenter. J. Murfitt: Giggleswick and Burglar. H. W. Hibberd: Golden Dart.

WIN FOR ROYAL ORDER BRED AT KOATANII The two-year-old Limond--Anklet colt Royal Order, who won at Flemington last Saturday, was purchased as a yearling nt Trentham by Mrs H. N. Aynsley, of Christchurch, for 550 guineas, and had his early education and racing under A. McAulay at Riccarton. He was purchased by Mr J. Richardson, of Dunedin, in the early spring, and remained with McAulay until a few months ago, when he was taken to Melbourne by S. G. Ware, who thus had his first success since he resumed training. Ware's apprentice, W. Jenkins, also returned to the winning list. RoyaT Order was bred by Mr G. M. Currie at the Koatanui Stud.
