Three of the machines, flown by Mazuruk, Vodopianov, and Milokov, with Dr. Schmidt, leader of the expedition, aboard one, arrived at Rudolf Island 5% hours later. The fourth, piloted by Alexiev, landed on the ice in latitude 85 degrees owing to shortage of petrol, which will be flown to him from Rudolf Island.
