TEMPERANCE UNION
ARAMOHO BRANCH n monthly meeting of the Aramoho branch of the W.C.T.U. was held in St. David’s Church on Thursday afternoon, where there was a good attendance. The president was in the chair and devotions were led by Mrs. Greig. Apologies were received from Mesdames Withers. Hamer and Nicholson.
The advisability of recommencing the Band of Hope was deferred till next meeting. Invitations were received from the Central Union, also the Baptist Missionary Union. Members were urged to attend these meetings, also a meeting of women held in Victoria Hall last week. It was agreed to visit the Jubilee Home on June 10, the programme be-
ing left in the hands of Mrs. Ansell, also to hold a church parade in St. David's Church, a date to be arranged. A letter of sympathy was sent to Mr. C. Good and family, who have recently suffered bereavement. The Rev. Nicholls then addressed the meeting and was listened to with great interest. At the conclusion, Mrs. j Hallam proposed a hearty vote of thanks to the speaker and this was carried by aclamation. The competition was won by Mrs. Walker. The meeting closed with the Benediction and afternoon tea was served by Mesdames Hallam and Sanderson.
