Gray (ball secretary), and Messrs. G. D. Thompson, N. Parsons, H. J. Cowdell, and D. Flower. It was decided that the supper arrangements be left to Mrs. D. Deceased retired from the bank service during 1920. At the time of his retirement he was the manager of the Auckland branch or the bank. Subsequently he commenced business in Auckland as a stockbroker. He leaves a widow, daughter, and two sons to mourn his loss. PERSONAL A pleasing little ceremony took place at the borough office recently, when Miss L. Siddle was farewelled by the staff and presented with a ( handsome dinner set. The town clerk (Mr. E. J. Price) paid a high tribute to Miss Siddle’s qualities and wished her the best of luck and happiness in her married life. The Mayor (Mr. L. B. H. de I>autour) spoke in a similar strain and made the presentation. Miss Siddle briefly responded. She has been on the clerical stac of ' the Borough Council for nearly 14 years and has served under two town clerks and three Mayors.
