PAVED EDGINGS TO LAWNS
Where the flower border runs alongside a lawn, the edging plants trespass on the grass when they are in lull growth in summer and will soon cause bare patches. The best way to avoid the trouble is to lay a narrow paved path at the edge of the lawn, over which the trailing plants can creep. Such an arrangement looks very well; the path provides a dry footing in all weathers and the lawn will not be damaged.
