I WAS GETTING TIRED CF LISTENING TO RAIN!
Dear Wendy.—l hope you will excuse me for not writing for such a long time, and let me hop in beside your warm fireside for a merry chat with you. I saw “Aunty’s Pet” and “Aunty’s Little Girl” one night in town. I wonder when they are going to write to you again? “Aunty” hasn\ been in our midst for quite a while, has she, Wendy? We went to the Opera House recently and enjoyed it very much. I wonder what has happened to “Dad’s Delight” lately. Today is the first fine day we have had for a long time. I was getting tired of listening to the rain beating on the roof. Most of the flowers are spoill but I see the violets are coming out, already, and many bulbs and daffodils are out. Violets are my favourite flowers. What are yours, Wendy? Well, I suppose many Ites will be collecting native trees and shrubs for the competition now. I see the Coronation stamps are in plentiful use- This year seems to be going rather quick-
iy, as nearly half the year has gone already. My sister is knitting a jumper in a yellow shade for the cold evenings. I don’t knit very much, but I like doing fancy work. I have just finished writing a letter to “One of the Joans” and I saw her in town on Friday night, but not long, as she could only stay a few minutes. Well, I think I have taken up quite a lot of space, so I will close. Hoping you and all your Ites are quite well. I will close.—From your sincere Ite “AUNTY’S PAL,” M.W.L., Rapanui. I am so glad you have popped in, dear, because I’ve wondered whatever had happened to you. The old Witch is as busy as ever she can be and I never know just who she has run oft with next. I hope our “Aunty” is safe and well. Place-names never appeared to be very popular, so we discontinued their use. Carnations are my favourite. Yes, I hope Jots of our Ites enter in the competition.—Wendy.
