He was one of the surviving promoters of the society and had been appointed manager at the first meeting of directors in July, 1893. The following resolution was carried: “That the resignation of Mr. Goodbehere from the office of man- | ager of the society be accepted with I deep regret and that the directors place on record, on behalf of the shareholders and on their own behalf, their sense of obligation to the retiring manager for his very valuable expert services, which date from the establishment of the society in 1893, fully recognising that those services have very materially helped towards the success and usefulness of the society.” In reply Mr. Goodbehere thanked the directors for their references to himself and stated that the society had been a life-long interest to him. Of the original directors he thought that Mr. Matheson, who lived in Dun- | edin, was the sole survivor. Mr. Guy Goodbehere was appointed to 1111 the position vacated by his father. “THE BIG BROADCAST OF 1937” AT CIVIC THEATRE TO-DAY One of the greatest casts of radio headliners ever assembled to make a motion picture will be seen and heard at the Civic Theatre beginning this afternoon and evening when Paramount’s ‘‘The Big Broadcast of 1937” starts its triumphal run.
