PHAR LAP OF GOLF
QUEENSLAND OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP NORMAN VON NIDA. Following a first day's total of 144 (69 and 75), Norman von Nida literally ran away with the Queensland open golf championship with two wonderful 70’s on the second day. This 10 strokes winning magin in a third of three successive opens, coupled with lower scores in all the purses and his success with brother Dudley in the 4-ba'll tilt, which prefaced the meeting proper, placed von Nida in a class aloof in the Just concluded Queensland championship carnival. Phar Lap, at weight-for-age, was never more convincing, says the Sydney F of -ree's Brisbane correspondent.
