P.W.M.U. AND GUILD
FAREWELLS MRS KING A farewell social was given by the ladies of the P.W.M.U. and Guild of St. James’ Presbyterian Church, Wanganui East, on Thursday afternoon to Mrs G. S. King, who is shortly leaving Wanganui. The church hall was very tastefully decorated and arranged for the occasion and there was a large attendance of members and friends. | Mrs King was presented w.Uh a pair of beautiful Indian vases and a gong, the presentation being made by Mrs McLeod, the Mother of the Church. Mrs King thanked the ladies for the gifts in her usual sweet manner, which has won the hearts of all who know her. Mrs Papworth spoke of the work and energy Mrs King had put into all of the different branches of church activities and of the loving memories she was leaving in the hearts of the Wanganui people. During the afternoon, songs with a wealth of deep feeling were rendered by Mrs Bustard, Miss J. Harman, and a recitation by Mrs M. E. Buller.
