SILVER JUBILEE BALL The Plunket Society’s ball is an event looked forward to by a large number of people who welcome the idea that it is to be held in race week on Tuesday, June 8, at 8.30 p.m. There will be continuous music, two of Wanganui’s orchestras having been engaged to play for the function. The floor of the Collegiate School hall, where the ball will be held, is being specially prepared for the occasion and a sumptuous supper will be served. Bridge tables are being arranged for non-dancers. The public, who are being given this opportunity to participate in the evening's enjoyment, also know that they will be assisting by their presence at the ball a great movement for the good of The work of the Plunket Society does not need to be explained as the work of the organisation is well known. Tickets for the ball—obtainable from the committee—are in good demand and particularly keen interest has been aroused in this effort for the excellent cause of the Plunket Society. Numerous oders of assistance are being received and the committee wish to thank the following: Maypole Stores, Farmers’ Co-op. Distributing Co., Shepherds, Mayfair Del., Model Dairy, Rutland, Foster’s, Kernohan’s. Eatox, Bristol’s, Hamilton’s, Dustin’*’, Cobbe and Co., Tramway Dept., Cake Kitchen, Senior and Bennett.
