MASSACRE AT MOORTOWN Received June 4, 9.55 p.m. LONDON, June 4. An unprecedented massacre of prominent golfers occurred in the £750 tournament at Moortown. The Ryder Cup players Padgham, W. J. Cox, and E. Jarman failed to survive the first round, in which Mahon, of Dublin, and Matthews, last year’s winner, were also defeated. The Ryder Cup representative, Allis, was defeated in the second round, after which the only Ryder Cup players surviving were Lacey and Busson.
