GENERAL NEWS Amongst the successful candidates at the recent entrance examinations for the Royal Navy was Harold Hannah, elder son of Mr and Mrs G. H. Hannah, of Bulls. A meeting of Roseneath Rebakah Lodge was held on Friday evening, Sister M. Kearney, N.G., presiding over a good attendance of members. It was decided to donate one guinea to the King George V. Memorial Fund. After lodge a presentation of a P.N.G. certificate was made to Mrs J. H. Ellery in recognition of her valuable work in forming the original lodge here. Supper and a dance followed. dered to Mr and Mrs L. Sanson at • Apa House," Parewanui, on Wednesday night, under the auspices of the School Committee. There was a large attendance, including friends from Sanson, Rongotea and other parts of the district. Cards and dancing filled in the evening, the winners in the card room being Mrs G. Abraham and Mr G. Grosland, while novelty dances resulted as follows Monte" Carlo, Miss Z. Montgomerie and Mr J. Klatt; statue, Mr and Mrs Butler (Sanson). The dance music was kindly supplied by Mrs Butler and Mr Reweti. Mr J. Montgomerie spoke of the excellent work done by Mr and Mrs Sanson on the School Committee, and of their help in all matters of benefit to the district. He handed to Mrs Sanson a handsome clock, and the guests of th' evening were accorded musical honours. Mr Sanson, briefly responded.
