CLASH WITH POLICE
STRIKERS AT CHICAGO Received May 30, 7.25 p.m CHICAGO, May 29. Twenty strikers were injured, two seriously, when a thousand marching upon the Republic Steel Corporation plant were beaten back by police armed with riot clubs. Several shots were fired, but all denied firing. The strikers are attempting to force the closing of the plant, which is operating on a curtailed basis.
