JURY’S VERDICT OF NOT GUILTY COMMENT BY JUDGE. WANGANUI MILL’S LOSS. t Per Press Association. ] WELLINGTON, May 3. Theft of a roll of blue serge valued at £32 9s, belonging to the National Woollen Mills, Wanganui, was alleged against Arthur Harold Anderson, waterside worker, aged 45, in the Supreme Court to-day. The material was part of a consignment to be taken from the Fordsdale at the King’s Wharf on January 23 to Wanganui. Alternatively, the prisoner was charged with receiving stolen goods. The jury returned a verdict of not guilty on both counts. “The jury didn’t know your record as well as I did,” said Mr. Justice Ostler, discharging the prisoner.
