SHOOTING
DEFENCE RIFLE CLUB
MIL R. SOMMERVILLE’S trophy. The Wanganui Defence Rifle Club held on Saturday the first shoot for a trophy presented by Mr. R. Sommerville. The weather was showery, but otherwise the conditions were fairly 1 good. The coveted “possible” was scored 1 by H. Hughes, A. Doidge and J. Chris- [ tian at 500yds. and E. Farley at 600yds. Some very good scores were registered, especially Rifleman Farley’s score of 103 closely followed by J. O'Keefe (101) and A. Doidge (100). Next Saturday will be held the final shoot for the trophy, the conditions being as on Saturday last. Following are the scores:—
