Lamb Prices Weaker CHILLED BEEF FIRMFR Lamb market: Prices slightly easier, but consumption is improving. Mutton market: Wethers and ewes, prices weaker excepting lightweights. Beef market: Frozen beef nominal; stocks short. Chilled beef firmer owing to higher prices Home-killed. New Zealand porker pigs: Market .teady and unchanged. New Zealand oaconer pigs: Firm with prices unchanged. The above report was received on Saturday by the Meat Board from its London office, which advises that the following are the approximate prices realised for the week, based on actual transactions of wholesale quantities of the descriptions of meat mentioned, and are for representative parcels of the goods offering during the week, being for business done on the basis of delivered to Smithfield market and/or ex London stores. Prices for the two previous weeks are also shown:— New Zealand sheep: Crossbred wethers and/or maiden ewes, 481 b. and under, 51d (same); 491 b. to 561 b., 4 7-8 d (sd, 51-8 d); 571 b. to 641 b., 41d (4 5-Bd, 4 5-8 d); 651 b. to 721 b., 4 3-8 d (41d, 41d.); ewes, 481 b. and under, 4Jd (same); 491 b. to 561 b„ 4 l-8d (41d., Aid); 571 b. to 641 b., 4d (4 l-Bd, 41-8 d); 651 b. to 721 b., 3 7-8 d (4d, 4d).

Market Dull All Round. The Bank of New Zealand, produce department, has received the following advice from its London oilice as at close of business last week: —Trade in wethers is slow. Weaker values for ewes are ruling owing to lack of demand. The market for lambs is quiet and unchanged. The market for chilled beef is firm. Wethers, light: 44d to 51d per lb.; heavy, 4d to 4 3-Bd. Ewes: 3Jd to 4 3-Bd. Lambs, 2's, 7d to 7 l-8d; B's, 6 5-8 d to 63d; 4’s, 6ld to 6 3-8 d; seconds, 6 5-8 d to 7d. Chilled hinds: 43d to 51d; fores, 33d to 4d. The Bank of New South Wales has received the following cable from its London office, dated April 30: Mutton, ewes, 31d to 4 3-8 d; wethers, 4d to 5Jd. Lambs, 6ld to 7 3-Bd.
