WANGANUI COMPETITIONS RESULTS OF JUDGING The Wanganui Chrysanthemum Club held its annual club competitions in its rooms last week when more than 20 blooms were staged in the chrysanthemum classes and 20 vases in the cut flowers section. After the judging of the entries, Mr. W. J. Guildford, a vice-president of the club and secretary of the Wanganui and Suburban Horticultural Society, gave an address on the standard and quality of the blooms and also commented on a number of new varieties. After the presentation of the -rophies, members were entertained ■t supper. Results were as follow: Open Classes. Six distinct blooms, open club cup. —Mr. W. J. Benson 1, Mr. Kitney 2. Six distinct blooms, Benson Trophy. —Mrs. White 1, Messrs. W. J. Benson and Kitney, equal 2. Intermediate.
Six blooms of not less than three varieties, Davison Cup.—Mr. Greager 1, Mr. Coxon 2. One specimen bloom.—Mrs. Dalzell Novice. Three blooms, Benson Trophy.— Mrs. Guildford 1, Mrs. Dalzell 2. One speciman bloom.—Mrs. Coxon 1; Mrs. Dalzell 2. Cut Flowers. Three sprays c' poms.—Mrs. Guildford 1, Mrs. Dalzell 2. Three sprays of singles.—Mrs. Kitney 1, Mrs. Dalzell 2. Three sprays of doubles.—Mrs. Kitney l, Mrs. Dalzell 2.
