RAILWAY REVENUE
AN INCREASE RECORDED THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY [ Per Press Association. ] WELLINGTON, March 11. The* Minister of Railways, £toq. D. G. Sul'A an, stated to-day that the net revenue figures for she tour weeks ended February 27 showed an increase of £33,000 compared with the same penoa of last year, the increase in the gross revenue amounting tu approximately £94,000 and the increase in expenditure to £61,000. The levenun figures continued to be adversely affected by the infantile paralysis restrictions. The Minister said that he was certain that the budgetary position would be more than sustained with four weeks of the financial year to go. The increase in the gross revenue up to date more than exceeded the amount budgeted for the full year. The department’s motor services were showing a satisfactory financial return.
