WAIATA MAORI PARTY
APPEARANCE IN WANGANU. TO-NIGHT’S FINE SHOW. The Waiata Maori party, which took Australia by storm last year, and is to leave shortly for England and America, will appear at the Wanganui Opera House to-night in an appealing programme of realistic melody and mirth. It is to be a grand farewell appearance, and lovers of the stage should not miss this wonderful treat. The party has a pleasing programme to present of part songs, thrilling dances, weird waiatas, topical choruses, Polynesian music, Taiaha hakas, Stone Age games, enchanting harmonies and haunting melodies. Ancient costumes will be displayed revealing the atmosphere of the past. Included in the party will be Tono Tikau, leading solo tenor, Te Ho“U Nikora (Dave Nichols) wizard of the steel guitar, Miss Weno Tahiwi, the noted mezzo-soprano, winner of countless medals, Miss Mihi Waikari (East Coast), the well-known contralto, and Hinerangi Hikuroa (King Country), N.Z. champion long string poi dancer. Plans are at the D.I.C.
