CAR HIT BY TRAIN

ACCIDENT AT LEVIN. MOTORIST SUFFERS BRUISES. [ Per Pres. Association. WELLINGTON, March 9. A collision occurred at 8.33 to-night between a goods train travelling to Wellington and a light car driven by Mr. Samuel Howell, of Levin. The car was turned over several times but the occupant escaped with bruises only. The accident occurred at the Levin Queen Street intersection. The driver of the train noticed the car from about two train lengths away and applied the emergency brakes which lessened the impact, but the car was hit amidships.
