CHRISTIAN SCIENCE CRUNCHES
I “Man” was the subject of the lesson-sermon in all Churches of Christ, Scientist, on Sunday, March 7. The Golden Text was Isaiah 43:10 “Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen." Among the citations which comprised the lesson-sermon were the following fro mthe Bible, “Thus saith the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker,, As me of things to come concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands command ye I me. I have made the earth and created man upon it. . . I have raised him up in righteousness, and I will direct all his ways. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God." (Isa, 45:11-13, Rom. 8:16). Also the following passages from the Christian Science textbook, “Science and Health with Key to the jScriptures” by Mary Baker Eddy, (“Man in Science is neither young nor '.old. He has neither birth nor death. IHe is not a beast, a vegetable, nor a migratory mind. Man is by no means a material germ rising from the imperfect and endeavouring to reach Spirit above his origin. The stream rises no higher than its source. Man, governed by immortal Mind, is always beautiful and grand. Each succeeding year unfolds wisdom, beauty and holiness.” (pp. 244,246).
