MANAWATU SPEEDWAYS
OVERSEAS STAR APPEARING The Manawatu Speedway this season has shown the way to all other speedways in New Zealand and it is now recognised as the leading one in the Dominion. To-night (Wednesday) the seventh programme of eventswill take place and another thrilling night’s entertainment is assured patrons of this popular sport which every night is seeing a larger attendance of the public. Last week’s programme was a wonderful one, combining racing and stunting events, but this week a full programme of straight-out racing will take place. The management has secured *jr to-night two of Australia’s leading broausiders, both having been selected for the Australian test team. Vic Duggan and Aussie Milhuish are Aussies with a great reputation to maintain and there is sure to be some hair-raising events during the evening when they meet the Yankees who have this season shown up as exceedingly fast and clever exponents of the art of cinder shifting. To add to the programme two of Auckland star riders will also make their first appearance on the local track. There are Brian Smith and Sei Carey, well-known as daring broadsiders. With the addition of Wellington, Manawatu and Christchurch riders the best programme of the season should eventuate this week, and oce again the speedway motto of “thrills and more thrills” will be Uvea up to. Do not let others tell you about this great night’s entertainment. Go and see it yourself and become one' of the big army of speedway fans.
