DEMAND VERY KEEN. JAPANESE BUYING WELL. Received Feb. 9, 12.16 a.m. SYDNEY, Feb. 8. At the wool sales 12,771 bales were offered, 11,871 sold, 1919 privately. There was a very keen demand on ■Japanese account with good support from the Continent, Yorkshire, American and Australian mills. The market retained all the best features of the last series. Greasy Merino made 305 d. The average price last week was £23 17s 6d a bale, or 19.1 d. per lb.
