THE REAL ANNA STEN “A Woman Alone,” the first of a series of super productions to be made by Garrett Klement Productions, Ltd. for world-wide release, will be presented at the Civic Theatre to-night and to-morrow night, co-starring Henry Wilcoxon, popular handsome star of “Cleopatra” and “The Cru sades," and beautiful Anna Sten-—a new, real Anna Sten—this pulsating human romance is set in the picturesque surroundings of pre-war Russia. Much of the pageantry of the country has been recaptured, while director Eugene Frenke, who lived there at the time, has brought a number oi quaint customs to the screen for the first time. Many spectacular scenes are also featured in the production, such as a reconstruction of the St. Petersburg Barracks, a re-enactment of a wedding ceremony carried out in accordance with the ritual of the o»thodox church, a brilliant ball, and a picturesque peasant festival-in which the famous ballets de Leon Woizikovsky, and some four hundred extras appear. THE TUTAENUI FLOWER SHOW Horticulturists are reminded of the flower show to be held in the Tutaei nui Hall to-morrow (Wednesday), 1 February 10. Each year this show has increased in importance and for Wednesday next additional sections or domestic, fruit, vegetable and industrial. have been added. All the lovers of flowers should make a point of visiting this outstanding display of prize blooms and floral handwork. In the evening a social and dance will be held and patrons can be assured of an excellent evening’s entertainment.
