AFFAIRS IN THE EAST
TRAFFIC IN WOMEN AND CHILDREN CONFERENCE OF AUTHORITIES LONDON, Feb. 7. A conference of central authorities in Eastern countries opened . on February 2 at Bandoeng, Java, Dutch East Indies. Nine Governments are represented and various missionary societies and voluntary organisations have sent observers. The conference originated from a League inquiry in 1930 regarding t<ce traffic in women and children in the East, and will consider what international measures might be applied in this part of the world for improving the present position.
