VINES AND PERRY AMERICAN’S SMASHES THREE THOUSAND WATCH GAME Received Jan. 27, 11.5 p.m. RICHMOND (Virginia), Jan. 27. Vines defeated Perry 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 before a crowd of 3000, including the Governor. The American’s powerful game was under control, his smashing service and returns being too much for Perry, who played the steadier game but was unable to cope with the power of Vines’ shots.
