TOO MUCH FOR FISH
RUM AND METHYLATED SPIRITS j SEQUEL TO MILLAQUIN FIRE BRISBANE, Nov. 21. F:sh killed by the pollution of the Burnett River bv rum and methylated spirit from the distillery fire are bacoming a menace. The river banxs are strewn with lens of thousands of dead fish, weighing up to 6<>lbs. ani including a number of sharks. Officials of the Millaquin Sugar Company, which has a controlling interest in the distillery are not concerned about the drop in the company's shares. They pointed out that the insurance protected share.! fitters' dividends by including in the indemnity their profits and standing charges for a full term <.f one year after any fire loss.
