WEDDING

SAI NDERS—GROSE On Alonday afternoon at St. Paul's Pro-Cathedral, Wellington, the marriage was celebrated of Ali.ss Alelicent Grose, of Wellington, and Air George Imlay Saunders, of Wellington, 'lhe ceremony was performed by Canon Percival James. Christmas lilies were, effectively arranged in brass bowls in the chancel. The bride wore a gown of cream cloque. | The bridesmaids, the Misses Juliet Nathan, Francis i’arkcr, and Alollie Peacock, were dressed in charming frocks of jade green chiffon with pleated yokes and sunray pleated skirts. The frocks were made alike with a plain basque cut to form a point up to the centre front of the bodice and down on to the centre front of lhe skirt and outlined with leaf-shaped pieces of the material. A belt, made of these cut out leaves overlapping leaves of golden kid, encircled the basque at the waistline. The ensemble was completed with a halo wreath of gold kid orange blossom, similar to that worn by the bride, and a bouquet of gold and eream roses. The bride’s father, Sir .James Grose, escorted her to the altar. The church was decorated with Christmas lilies and ferns by Mrs Sinclair Thompson, assisted by Misses Francis Parker and Eilcn Alacarthy. The bridegrom, who is the eldest son of Mr Imlay Saunders, of Wanganui, had as his best man Mr lan Reid. The groomsmen were Air Peter Saunders, of Wanganui (the bridegroom's brother), and Mr Leslie McAncny. Messrs Colin Armstrong, Alec Saunders, Jack Pym, John Burneau, Brian Reid, and Thady Alacarthy were ushers. The reception was held at Sir James Grose's home in Orchard Street, Wadestown. Beautiful pink roses, from Airs Vesey Robinson's garden in Blenheim, and Christmas lilies were arranged in the house, and the tables in the marquee erected in the garden were decorated with yellow and deep | gold roses and maidenhair fern, the j cream wedding cake on the bridal table having these lovely flower: massed around the base. The bride’s going away ensembl. consisted of a black crepe de chine frock patterned with clusters of bright field flowers, a black wool crepe de chine three-quarter length coat, and wide black baku straw hat, a silver fox fur and black accessories.
