“MARRY THE GIRL.” Humour of the best kind characterises the British Dominions release “Marry the Girl,” which is coming to the Plaza Theatre to-day with Sonnie Hale and Winifred Shotter in the starring roles. “Marry the Girl” is a screen adaptation of the famous Aldwych farce. Winifred Shotter plays her original stage role, and Sonnie Hale, England's brilliant comedian, co-stars opposite her in the masculine lead. Prominent roles are played by Judy Kelly and Hugh Wakefield, and the cast also includes '. such well-known players as Amy Veness, Denier Warren. Maidie Hope, • Wally Patch. Lawrence Anderson, i John Deverell, Kenneth Kove, Cecil : Parker. Sybil Grove and Mike Johnson. Hilarity vies with romance in , trying to take the credit for the de- | lightful new musical comedy, “The ' Girl Friend.” which is on the same | programme. Gay, light-hearted and , brimming with lunes that will have | everyone hopefully pursing his lips ; trying to whistle them. “The Girl j Friend” is a friend indeed. Ann Soth- ' ern sings and dances her way through ; the film. Jack Haley, one of the merriest comedians of them all, goes ' through antics that will leave you as limp from laughter as vour backbone will permit. And Roger Pryor is the third of the main triumvirate. “Swing Time.” Unlike former films made by that popular couple, Fred Astaire and I Ginger Rogers, “Swing Time.” which | is to commence on Friday night, at the midnight matinee at the Plaza. ' has a dramatic as well as spectacular i and musical angles. Victor Moore and ; Helen Broderick make up the quartet. { Jerome Kern, well known for the i melodies he has marie, wrote the I music of the “Swing Time” numbers. :
