CABINET SALARIES
RISES IN BRITAIN PROBABLE. During the House of Commons debate on the Address in Reply, satisfaction was expressed over the decision to increase the Prime Minister's salary and equally those of other Cabinet Ministers. It is likely that the Prime Minister will receive £BOOO a year, and that the salaries of other Ministers will be made uniform at £5OOO a year. This will mean that Mr. Baldwin will receive an increase of £3OOO, while the Lord Chancellor (Viscount Hailsham) will suffer a reduction of £5OOO. His present salary of £lO,OOO is the highest of any Minister. The change will also give increases of £3OOO to seven Ministers, and £lOOO to two others.
